Our Committee has launched a manifesto on the political situation in Bosnia, urging the Netherlands to take appropriate action.
Background is that in Bosnia etnical extremism is rising, the Bosnian-Serb leader Milorad Dodik openly advocating seccession of the Bosnian-Serb entity with setting up a force along the inter-boundary line. Meanwhile the High Commissioner, Christian Schmidt, has altered the constitution in favour of one etnic group, the Bosnian-Croats. These developments pose serious risks for Bosnia, which may lead to division and violence. In the Manifesto we ask the Dutch government to use its influence to turn developments, and bring Bosnia on the pathway of justice and joining the European Union.
We prepared the Manifesto in close cooperation with the Bosnian Platform. It will be shared with a wide range of organisations and politicians.
